Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Announcement regarding Jummah and other congregational prayers during COVID-19 , March 12th, 2020.
As we are all aware, we are faced with an unprecedented situation with the current pandemic declared by CDC/WHO on COVID-19.
All of the Austin area Masajid gathered our Imams, healthcare professionals, and board representatives to recommend the following:
First and foremost, our Imams are in agreement that the situation is such that it is not obligatory to come for Jummah tomorrow and people can pray Dhuhr at home.
Our healthcare professionals recommend that social distancing is the only way to prevent and mitigate the spread of this disease.
The board representatives are in agreement that we cannot take the risk of spreading the disease and cause undue burdens on families especially the ones with elders, children or anyone with compromised immune systems.
As such we highly recommend that you do not come to Jummah prayers tomorrow.
For those that are willing to take the risk, we will have shortened Jummah prayers with smaller groups at the Masajid. We recommend you come prepared with wudu, do not shake hands or hug each other, and bring your own prayer mat. Anyone who feels sick in any way, please pray at home. Take all precautions including washing hands often and thoroughly.
We ask Allah SWT that you and your families and our community stay healthy and blessed.
اللهم عافنا في ابداننا واسماعنا وابصارنا
O Allah grant us well being in our bodies, in our hearing and our sight.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan

O men, the Apostle has now come to you, bringing the truth from your Lord; so believe for your own good; but if you deny (then remember) that all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to God; and God is all-knowing and all-wise.
