ATX Qur’an Competition

Austin Fall 2023 Qur’an Competition – 

Objective: to provide a unified front amongst the community in providing a community-wide, event that motivates children and adults alike to engage with the Qur’an

READ CAREFULLY:

YOU WILL BE READING FROM THE QUR’AN, THUS NO MEMORIZATION IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE 

– If you are signing up for someone (i.e: participant less than age 18), please make sure to provide your contact information to receive specific details about the event
– If you are signing up multiple people on one order, make sure to accurately answer participant questions (name, age, gender) so that they can be appropriately assigned to a category

Locations:
Round 1 – Islamic Center of Greater Austin (December 2nd) – 12pm
Quran Night – Islamic Center of Brushy Creek (December 2nd) – After Maghrib
Finale – North Austin Muslim Community Center (December 3rd) – At 11:30am

 Three categories separated by age group (subject to change depending on participant number and response) 

1. Ages 6-8 (category 1)

2. Ages 9-13 (category 2)

3. Ages 14-18 (category 3)

Participants will be asked to READ a preselected passage from the Qur’an. Each round’s content information will be released a week prior to the date of the competition (this will be updated and released on this page and an text/email will be sent to participants notifying them of content details)

Round 1 content (to be released three weeks before competition) 
1. Ages 6-8 – Qur’anic passage to be released
2. Ages 9-13 – Qur’anic passage to be released
3. Ages 14-18 – Qur’anic passage to be released

Finale Content (to be released one week before competition)
1. Ages 6-8 – Qur’anic passage to be released
2. Ages 9-13 – Qur’anic passage to be released
3. Ages 14-18 – Qur’anic passage to be released
