Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Ramadan starts Friday, April 24, 2020.
There have been no verified reports of moon sighting anywhere in the world that shared part of the night with the USA.
In-Shaa-Allah, the holy month of Ramadan will start on Friday, April 24, 2020. Due to COVID-19 related city and county instructions on shelter-in-place and public gatherings, all Masajid will remain closed for daily and Taraweeh prayers, till further notice. We do not take this decision lightly and pray for the safety and well-being of all our community members.
“O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may (learn) self-restraint.” Qur’an 2:183.
Please visit your Islamic Center’s website below for additional details on prayer schedule, Ramadan timetable, and https://austinmuslimunity.org/ramadan2020/ for online programs.
Let us turn our attention now on preparing for the arrival of this blessed month and to plan on getting the maximum benefit from the days of fasting and nights of prayers.
We ask Allah SWT that you and your families have a blessed month of Ramadan.
“O Allah! Safeguard me for Ramadan, safeguard Ramadan for me, and accept it from me.” Ameen.
